GATSBY - SOLD

GATSBY is a commissioned French Bulldog portrait 24” x 24” created for a private family collection. Creating this piece was both joyful and deeply rewarding. From the first layer to the final seal, the process was immersive, balancing texture, contrast, and character to capture not just likeness, but presence.

It was a fun and challenging work to develop. The layered materials required precision and patience, especially around the eyes, where personality truly emerges. Every detail mattered.

What made this portrait especially meaningful was the moment it was delivered. Watching the family see Gatsby transformed into a contemporary work of art, preserved in texture and depth, was incredibly exciting. Their reaction reaffirmed why I create commissioned pieces, to translate love into something lasting and tangible.

Constructed from layered archival fragments and sealed beneath a protective finish, this work stands as a celebration of loyalty, individuality, and connection.
